XcomTools is the latest version of the registry repair tool that used to be known as Perfect Optimizer by Miracle Technologies. And while it is only slightly more expensive than its predecessor, the added capabilities it has retained have only made it more competitive in the hotly contested marketplace of registry cleaners.

As the Windows operating system becomes more complex with each new version that is released, the need to perform periodic maintenance on its registry is ever more important for the effecient functioning of your Windows based computer. This means that programs that profess to fix errors in the registry and to optimize its performance need to step up their game if they are to keep up with this ever changing computing environment.

XcomTools has done just that. Stepped up its game. This registry cleaner slash system optimizer is almost on par with another popular best-selling utility in this registry repair review, Registry Easy (RE). It contains all the same feature sets as RE with only a slight degradation in efficiency. XcomTool png

The XcomTools Clean tab feature comes with five different settings: a Registry Cleaner, a JunkFile Cleaner, an Evidence Cleaner, a Duplicate Cleaner, and a Shortcuts Cleaner. In addition to repairing the registry, there are extra features that will help to clean the browsing history, the browser cache, and temporary system files.

Clicking the Repair tab from the opening screen and you will find five different areas addressed: Windows Repair, IE Repair, System Repair, Shortcuts Repair, and FileAssoc Repair. XcomTools modifies Internet and network settings changed by malicious software programs to keep Internet browsing secure. The Windows System Repair tab fixes system components and Winsock2 errors when your PC becomes unstable. Shortcut Repair fixes broken shortcuts that point to invalid locations to speed processing and eliminate unexpected errors.

Within the Optimizer tab you'll find four items addressed: a System Optimizer, a Disk Defragger, a Registry Defragger, and an Uninstall Manager. The System Optimizer automatically optimizes your computer for its best performance. The Disk Defragger defragments the hard drive just as the Registry Defragger does the same for the registry. The Uninstall Manager allows you to uninstall any program on your hard drive from the XcomTools interface without having to access the Windows Control Panel.

The Security tab has two basic functions: a Bad ActiveX Blocker and a File Shredder. XcomTools blocks malicious ActiveX files to protect your system and your privacy while the File Shredder serves you by deleting files and folders securely from your computer, then the deleted data cannot be retrieved using any data recovery utility.

The SpeedUp tab contains features that you may use on a daily basis, depending on how much you use your computer. It contains a Memory Optimizer (to recapture RAM memory not being currently used), a Startup Speedup (which is basically a Start up Manager), a System Speedup (which loads data need by an application into memory so that it can be accessed faster), and an Internet Optimizer (which automatically adjusts your TCP/IP settings for optimal Internet performance).

The Update tab contains two buttons: a Windows Update button which updates your Windows operating system to protect the computer from system crashes and malicious software, and a Software Update button which updates popular software to the latest version to avoid software vulnerabilities.

And finally, the Backup tab has four items which address: a System Restore, a Registry Backup, Important File Backup, and Driver Backup. While you may not need a system restore capability — since the Windows system automatically creates these restore points by itself — it's nice to have easy access to manually create a restore point if you need to. More useful might be the Important File Backup which allows you to back up important files on your hard drive (music, photos, and data files) for safe keeping on an external disk in case of a system failure. Important device drivers can also be backed up into a separate folder.

The developer of XcomTools gives potential users a 30 day trial period where they are able to test this cleaner during the trial period. By downloading and installing this incredible software today, you can find out first hand whether or not it lives up to this XcomTools review.

If you're looking for a utility tool that gives you access to all the really necessary computer maintenance functions at your fingertips, then the XcomTools utility will do all that while also providing a better-than-average registry cleaning ability. While it's not quite as thorough a registry utility as Registry Easy, this tool is far and away better than most other registry cleaners on the market (and featured on this review site). And odds are you won't be disappointed using it.
